As a man who loves adventure, nature, traveling, sour patch kids, and finding god with in those things I always dreamed of moving far away from home and going to college in an exotic location filled with loads of adventurous things to do. When I was in high school I worked towards that goal and got accepted to University of California San Diego where I planned on attending in the fall, but due to financial circumstances I was not able to. This left what I then saw as the bottom of the barrel Texas A&M a place that was close to home and that I thought lacked beauty, adventure, and nearly everything I wanted.
At first when I came to College Station I brought with me this idea of what I believed it was and how it was going to be and honestly I made myself miserable. I grew angry with myself because I was not experiencing the beauty of the world, and I was not being as adventurous as I wanted to be. That was until I got into an organization called Freshman Leaders in Christ, here I developed deep relationships and met amazing people. Things began to change for me and I came to the realization that beauty isn't just a location that appears to be beautiful but it can also be found in the people around you. Another thing I learned is that adventure isn't always doing the most extreme things but it can also be found in discovering new relationships and the stories that you create through them.
